University of Washington Association for Computing Machinery (UW ACM) is a student-led organization in the Allen School dedicated to building community in our department, providing career growth and academic resources, offering opportunities for mentorship, and making CSE feel like home. 💻💕
UW ACM is a student group at the University of Washington aimed at improving the student experience within the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. We host various events for students in the department, which help connect CSE students with peers, faculty, staff, and industry, and provide students with the resources and skills they need to succeed.
During a virtual quarter, such as Autumn 2020, we do not require paid membership for any of our events - all students are welcome to attend our events for free! The best way to stay updated on ACM’s events and initiatives is to follow us on social media or to sign up for our mailing list.
During an in-person quarter, we require paid membership for ACM’s large departmental socials only (Fall Fest, Winter Ball, and Spring Barbecue). To become a lifetime member, all you need to do is Venmo $8 to @uwacm with your CSE NetID in the message AND fill out this form! If you are a new student and you have already paid for your membership, you’re all set! We will keep track of who has paid for membership so that you won’t have to worry about it once UW resumes in-person instruction. However, if you have paid and you would like a refund for the virtual quarter, please email email@example.com and we’ll take care of it! Please note that if you receive a refund, you will need to repay for membership during an in-person quarter to be able to attend our departmental socials.
You can find out about upcoming events via the calendar above, or by keeping up with the UW CSE Undergraduate Slack, Facebook page, or Instagram page (all linked below). If you are a CSE undergraduate, our upcoming events will also be sent out via our mailing list.
We are always in search for volunteers for our three major annual events (Fall Fest, Winter Ball, Spring Barbecue). Keep an eye out on our social media pages for these forms to be posted! If you're looking to get even more involved with the planning process of our events, you can apply to become an Officer during spring quarter, or Associate Officer during fall quarter.
